About Us
I thought of Bloom Clothing Company in my dorm room at Cleveland State University in 2017 when I was only 20. I was always involved in community service and charity work, but I wanted to make a bigger impact. I did some research and found a common statistic that 1 of every 3 bites of food comes from the pollination process which wouldn't be possible without bees. I saw on the news nearly every week something about how honeybees were dying off and what that meant for the people who rely on them. Being in Cleveland, a city with one of the highest poverty rates, I thought of how the lack of honeybees would contribute to the worsening condition of the food deserts. As I dove deeper into the research I found the Honeybee Conservancy. They set-up hives around the nation to help preserve the bees and one of them is in a Cleveland food desert that is now an urban farm. My goal is to fund more of these hives to not only preserve bees, but feed healthy nutritious food to those who normally wouldn't have access to it. I encourage everyone to plant the wildflower seeds that I pack with every purchase to give honeybees a place to pull pollen from. Whether you purchase clothing from my store to support it or visit http://thehoneybeeconservancy.org/ yourself, please do your part in funding these wonderful hives.
